Ages 7–11
In KS2, we build on KS1 foundations, preparing pupils for greater independence and future academic success.
Our KS2 tuition includes:
- Spelling development with an emphasis on accuracy and application.
- Explicit teaching of grammar and punctuation to strengthen written communication.
- Reading lessons that deepen understanding and analytical skills.
- Mathematics covering arithmetic, fluency and problem solving strategies.
- Weekly homework tasks set and reviewed in detail to reinforce learning and address misconceptions.
- Focused small group sessions to challenge and support learners effectively.
- Individual learning plans designed to stretch potential and close learning gaps.
- From January, regular Year Six SATs practice tests are implemented to ensure pupils are confident with exam style questions and assessment expectations.
Following the initial assessment, all children are assessed every 8 weeks, allowing us to track progress accurately, celebrate achievements, and set clear personal learning targets. This ensures teaching remains focused, purposeful, and responsive to individual needs.
