- Homework is set regularly, marked in detail, and returned with clear feedback identifying strengths, areas of development, and specific gaps to be addressed.
- Small-group teaching allows for focused support, active participation, and effective discussion.
- Pupils are encouraged to identify and request specific areas they wish to improve, supporting the development of reflective learning habits and growing independence.
- Formal assessments every 8 weeks are used to track progress, measure attainment, and inform future teaching.
Key Stage 4
What we offer for KS4:
- English, Mathematics, and Science tuition focused on examination success, delivered in line with the National Curriculum and GCSE examination requirements.
- Individual learning programmes tailored to each student’s personal targets and concerns, ensuring teaching is purposeful and outcomes-driven.
- Explicit instruction on exam technique, including how to interpret questions accurately, apply mark schemes, and structure answers clearly to gain maximum marks.
- Regular use of exam-style questions and extended tasks to build subject mastery and confidence under timed conditions.
- For Year 11 students, mock-style assessments are given, providing predicted grades alongside clear, practical targets to support improvement and a readiness for exams.
- Tailored detailed feedback, personal and individual to the student, with the feedback being aligned to the mark schemes on what level they are working at, and how they can achieve a higher level.
Follwing the intial assessment, all children are assessed every 8 weeks, allowing us to track progress accurately, celebrate achievements, and set clear personal learning targets. This ensures teaching remains focused, purposeful, and responsive to individual needs.
